Colorful Classics

April 12, 2014

I’m finally breaking out my David Yurman, 30th Anniversary, limited edition color cable bracelet.  Now that it’s warm out, and I can start looking cute again, I put more effort into completing my whole ensemble.  Goodbye leggings, sweaters, and Uggs, and hello sexy Spring outfits, and fun jewelry!  At first, I didn’t really like them, I liked the classic cable bracelets more, but I got one as a gift, in the green, and it has grown on me.  I would have loved the pave diamond one (a girl can dream right?), but I am happy I was able to capture a piece that represents a pretty important time in fashion history.

Peace.Love.Music

Although I am not able to attend this year, I still put together my Coachella look.  It felt wrong not to.  I love the vibe of Coachella, more then any other music festival.  It is so chill, and I love the bohemian chic look everyone takes over.  I am really not your typical Free People, bohemian, girl, so it’s fun to sort of play dress up in a way, and wear something you normally wouldn’t.  This year, I kept it simple with my Urban Outfitters Mid-Rise Shortie Shorts, Free People Mystic Top, and my Sam Edelman Georgia Cutout Sandals.  I went for a very easy, light, and effortless look.  I also, paired this outfit with my Ray Ban Aviators, a Prima Donna Judo Arrow leather bracelet, and of course my olivia + joy Kindred Crossbody.

How To…Rock Your BF’s Jeans

April 7, 2014

We all know this trend might have been inspired by the men in our lives, but it definitely was not to attract them!  It is a proven fact that men actually hate this trend that we have fallen in love, and us women don’t care, because 9 times out of 10, we dress for women, not for men.  I love my boyfriend jeans.  They are extremely comfortable and so versatile.  Sometimes, I wear them with a more a casual outfit, t-shirt, and sneakers; other times I like to rock a cute crop top and some pumps, for a going out look.  You really can’t lose with boyfriend jeans, either way, day or night, casual or dressy, you can perfect this look and be fierce!

Tea Time

April 1, 2014

One of Spring’s most classic “Do’s” right now, is the Grace Kelly tea-length dress.  No one screams class, more then award winning actress, Grace Kelly.  So many runways were presenting their version of the classic fit-and-flare, tea-length dresses and skirts.  I happen to love this trend.  I think it is sexy in itself, but you can definitely modernize it.  I love to rock a tea-length skirt with a crop top, turning this into a younger, more fun, version of the classic trend.  Oscar de la Renta, presented a gorgeous Spring collection, staying true to this particular trend, by keeping it more mature and classy, using floral appliques to decorate a simple style.

Nudes Are In!

March 27, 2014

I am loving this season’s nude trend!  Being a big fan of black in the Fall and Winter, I like that I can still keep it simple this Spring season, while looking clean, classic, and chic.  I think it is great for almost all skin tones, you just have to choose your nude color carefully from the variety of shades on the nude spectrum.  Some nudes have more brown in them, becoming more beige, and then are nudes that are more pink, more of a dusty rose.  Whichever way you go, you are on trend, and ready for the Spring season!

Accessorize

I have been loving this new hair trend!  I am a serious lover of pony tails.  Its such an easy, fast, and clean look, that I may even rock them a little too much.  I was concerned that a ponytail can sometimes come off as a bit casual, but not anymore!  I went to town at Nordstrom recently and bought a bunch of colors of the “L. Erickson ‘Atelier’ Enamel Cuff Ponytail Holder.”  I am so excited for this to be my summer trend.  I will definitely be rocking these at a pool party, to work, at the beach, pretty much every where!

Nobody Does It Quite Like…

I like to give credit where credit is due.  One of my faves definitely deserves some credit right now, Miranda Kerr.  She is poised, classy, perfect (at least I think so), and always looks stylish and put together.  Whether she’s going out to grab some coffee or walking the red carpet, she is always stunning!  Her style seems to be effortless and natural, which is what I love the most.

Everyday Must Have

March 10, 2014

Rag & Bone has become a staple in every fashionista’s closet.  Whether it’s their denim, a killer jacket, or one of their signature hats, there’s definitely something there.  Although, Rag & Bone has a specific look and feel, every collection has something for everyone.  One of their MUST HAVE items is the classic Newbury Boot.  Originally created in 2009, designer Marcus Wainwright, created the perfect everyday boot, with their anti-scuff leather, back zipper, and stacked heel; giving you that height you crave, along with the comfort. Now, literally every celeb, model, blogger, and everyone in between has a pair.

Sunday Steal

March 9, 2014

lookforless

By now, I am sure that all of you know I am a sucker for a steal.  Whether it be fashion, food, beauty, etc., I am always looking out for a good deal.  A girl’s gotta do, what a girl’s gotta do, living on a NYC budget! This time, I was on the hunt for a fun statement necklace, that wouldn’t break the bank.  As I was browsing my “bible”, Shopbop, I came across a great statement piece,  the Lulu Frost Revolutionary Necklace, for a whopping $500.00.  Is it amazing, yes, but not worth missing rent!  Knowing my steal skills, I found something very similar, Prima Donna Penny Lover Glass Strand Necklace, for only $26.99.  I love Prima Donna accessories.  They are fun, affordable, and fashionable.

Fri-DO or Fri-Don’t ?

March 7, 2014

There are certain trends that I love and understand and then there are others that I am not too sure about.  The Eugenia Kim, “Josie Patent-Leather Cat Ear Headband” is one of those trends that I just cannot seem to understand.  These were great for your chic cat costume, but Halloween is over, and I’m sorry these just shouldn’t be worn after that.  Celebs are loving their cat headband, but they aren’t always right!  I wouldn’t discredit Eugenia Kim, because she does have some great head bags, and other hair accessories.  You can check some of them out at Net-A-Porter.
